Job description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a team, supporting students within Maths lessons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education, numeracy, and helping young people to succeed. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Maths LSA:

  1. Support students in Maths lessons to access the curriculum and develop confidence in their mathematical skills.
  2. Work alongside class teachers to adapt resources and provide targeted support.
  3. Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to reinforce learning.
  4. Assist in preparing lesson materials and resources where required.
  5. Encourage positive learning attitudes, resilience, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Provide support for students with additional learning needs, ensuring inclusion and progress.

Ideal Maths LSA:

  • A good standard of Maths knowledge (minimum Grade C/4 at GCSE or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting (desirable).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills as a Maths LSA.
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach to learning.
  • A proactive, flexible, and team-focused attitude.
