Overview

Youth College is an exciting and alternative curriculum offer for Y11 school-aged students (15‑16) who access their curriculum at South Tyneside College. In this unique role, you will help develop and support up to 70 students in preparation for their GCSE exams.

  • Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 37 per week (864 teaching hours per year)
  • Salary: £33,496 – £43,471 per annum
  • Lecturer Salary Scale: £31,283 – £39,279 per annum
  • Spine Points: 24 – 31
Responsibilities

Deliver curriculum to class sizes of no more than 14 and teach up to 5 different groups within the Youth College cohort. Support the cohort in preparation for their GCSE exams and work closely with a dedicated Attendance Welfare Officer and Youth College Manager to provide pastoral support.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience with GCSE, Functional Skills or FE provision is advantageous. New to the teaching profession but possessing a genuine passion for maths and a desire to inspire others are also welcome.
