An exciting opportunity is available as a Maths Lecturer in the Health & Care department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the City Centre Campus, Dumballs Road. Responsibilities include:
  • Undertaking of all pedagogic work such as lesson preparation, classroom teaching, tutorial work and marking.
  • Teaching GCSE Maths across campuses as part of our cross-college resit programme; as part of our Access to Further Study adult provision and potentially within our Adult Evening provision. Teaching opportunities will also include our Level 3 provision in Access to HE Diplomas.
  • Conducting student assessments in order to place students, monitor progress and identify learning support needs.
  • Providing appropriate student support in order to meet both the academic and welfare needs of learners and ensuring that all relevant information is recorded on the appropriate College systems
  • Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above. This includes inter alia, attending team meetings, taking part in professional development activities and staff appraisals, maintaining accurate teaching-related records including details of assessment and attendance
  • Taking part in course evaluation activities and contributing to the development of the curriculum
  • An involvement in marketing, i.e. identification of consumer requirements, creating appropriate publicity materials and working with external agencies where appropriate
  • Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
