Do you have a passion for helping students build confidence and succeed in maths? Join our team and play a key role in supporting learners to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

In this role, you will assist in the development and delivery of targeted maths tuition workshops designed to remove barriers to learning and motivate students to achieve their maths qualifications. Working closely with teaching staff, you'll ensure students receive high-quality, personalised support that leads to outstanding outcomes — exceeding sector norms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted maths support to groups ‘at risk’ of not achieving GCSE grade 4 (or above) or passing their functional skills, working with selected students in small groups.
  • Regularly review and monitor the attendance and progress of learners and follow up as required to ensure learners achieve their goals.
  • Help plan and contribute to maths tuition workshops.
  • Deliver small group tuition workshops.
  • Provide temporary lesson cover for maths as required.
  • Work with teaching staff to provide learning support for individuals and/or small groups of learners for GCSE and Functional Skills maths sessions.
  • Support learners with a range of additional needs inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support exam invigilation process, including scribing and reading as required.
  • Collaborate with maths tutors to support students at risk of not achieving their targets.
  • Work with Progress Coaches regarding the performance of learners in maths.

Qualifications and Training

  • GCSE Grade A*-C in English or equivalent.
  • Higher level maths qualification (A Level or Degree) or in a relevant subject area (Desirable).

Skills and Expertise

  • The ability to motivate, inspire and support learners to achieve a GCSE or functional skills in maths.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of functional skills and GCSE specifications/requirements.
  • Experience of working with young people with specific difficulties such as dyslexia/ASD.
