Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking compassionate Maths and English Tutors to support students in Alnwick who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. Sessions are face-to-face in a community setting or at home, with a focus on rebuilding confidence in Maths and English.

Role involves 1:1 or small group tuition, personalised lesson plans, monitoring progress, and reporting. Pay rate up to 30 per hour, with up to 6 hours weekly per student, starting September 2025.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND such as ADHD, SEMH and students permanently excluded from mainstream schools.
• Ability to travel to Alnwick and work in community settings or at home.
• Hold the right to work in the UK and possess an enhanced DBS certificate.
• Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Maths and English.
• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress
• Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students rebuild their confidence in learning.
• Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
