A leading educational provider in Salford is looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 8 student struggling to engage. Ideal candidates will hold a relevant degree and possess experience working with young people.

Job description

We are working with an Alternative Provision in Salford, who require Teaching Assistants to work 1:1 with a Year 8 student who is struggling to engage. The role focuses on Maths and English skills, but will also involve sports and pastoral support. You will be given lesson plans and all the work is pre prepared – you just need to be confident delivering the sessions.

The role will start in mid Oct and will continue for the rest of the academic year. This role is starting as 3 days but will go into 5 days long term.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Psychology, or a relevant degree such as Maths, English, Health and Social Care and/or Sociology
Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) desirable but not essential
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, we can provide the training)
up to date behaviour management training (desirable, we can provide training)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS that is registered on the update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide professional references to cover the last 2 years
