Maths & English Tutor – Stockport (SK1)

Are you passionate about teaching core subjects but looking for something more flexible and rewarding than a traditional classroom role?
We’re seeking a dedicated tutor to support children and young people in the Stockport (SK1) area with one-to-one tuition in Maths and English. Pupils may be out of school for various reasons – whether due to medical needs, school anxiety, or other barriers to mainstream education – and your input could be key to helping them rebuild confidence and make real academic progress.
Tuition typically takes place either in the pupil’s home or in a safe, quiet public setting such as a local library. Sessions are fully tailored to individual needs and can range from early Key Stage levels through to GCSE preparation.
What you’ll bring:
Experience supporting or teaching Maths and English (primary, secondary, or both)
Patience and adaptability, especially when working with pupils who may have missed significant learning time
A nurturing, encouraging approach that builds trust and engagement
Ability to plan and deliver focused, engaging sessions one-to-one
A current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
What we offer:
£25–£30 per hour (depending on experience)
Weekly pay through PAYE
Flexible working hours between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
