Maths Academic Mentor – What the School is Looking For

The school is looking for a proactive, personable Maths Academic Mentor with a strong academic background and a passion for supporting young people. You should hold a 2:1 or First-Class degree in a relevant subject from a top 30 UK university and ideally have some prior experience working with young people in a tutoring, mentoring or school-based capacity. A willingness to learn, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for maths education are essential.

Maths Academic Mentor – Salary and Contract Info

  • £500–£550 per week, pro rata to term time only
  • Full-time, long-term contract (September 2025–July 2026)
  • Term-time only role based in a Sixth Form environment
  • Potential for teacher training or contract extension following a successful placement
