The Role

You’ll be employed as an unqualified teacher, with day-to-day responsibilities and structured training delivered by your school and university or SCITT partner.
  • Training covers classroom practice, pedagogy, and assessment, supported by experienced mentors. You’ll also spend time in partner schools or associated university sessions.
  • At the end of the year, you’ll receive QTS—and often a PGCE qualification if included—as part of this employment-based route

The Candidate
You’re a maths (or related) graduate with:

  • Confidence in explaining maths concepts and adapting to individual learner needs.

  • Gain QTS (and possibly PGCE) at no extra cost.
  • Grow in a top-rated school, with structured support and real career progression.
  • Avoid tuition fees and debt compared to traditional university PGCE routes.
