A secondary school in Brighton is looking to appoint a confident and approachable Mathematics Teacher who can help students develop both their mathematical understanding and their confidence in problem-solving.

Mathematics Teacher Role

Teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE

The successful Mathematics Teacher will teach students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering a structured curriculum covering number, algebra, geometry, statistics, ratio, proportion and problem-solving.

You will be expected to explain mathematical concepts clearly and provide students with opportunities to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems. At GCSE, you will support pupils with examination preparation while continuing to develop their reasoning and analytical skills.

The school is looking for someone who understands that students can have very different levels of confidence in Mathematics. You will therefore need to adapt your teaching, provide additional support where necessary and ensure that higher-attaining pupils are appropriately challenged.

Assessment and feedback will form an important part of the role, with the successful teacher using student performance to inform future planning.
