Syllabi Limited is hiring brilliant Maths teachers for live, remote, part-time roles. Start at 6 hours/week with potential to grow to 15+ hours. Qualifications

• Unrestricted right to work in the UK long-term.
• GCSE Mathematics at grade 9/A* and A Level Mathematics at grade A* or above.
• Degree in Mathematics or highly quantitative subject, achieving or on track for a 2:1 or above.
• Confident teaching GCSE Mathematics across Higher and Foundation tiers.
• Experience with UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Cambridge International or similar).
• Strong track record of student outcomes and improvements.
• Excellent knowledge of GCSE exam technique and how to teach problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Syllabi is rethinking how UK secondary education actually works. We're an online GCSE prep platform for Year 7 to 11 students in Maths, English, and Science. What we really are is a team obsessed with one thing: giving students the best lessons in the country, taught by the best teachers in the country. Right now, we work with over 1,500 students across the UK.

We've built our platform from the ground up. Live group lessons taught by brilliant teachers. Workbooks, recordings, notes, a dedicated 24/7 personal tutor. Bi-weekly assessments with proper marked feedback. One platform, one place, one path to great GCSE results. Nobody else in UK edtech is doing this at scale.

> What you'll do

• Teach. Live group Maths lessons to Year 7 to 11 students. Motivated kids, families who chose to be here, and the best platform in UK edtech to teach on.
• Prep, without the busywork. We give you the curriculum, the slides, the resources, all built to a high standard. You don't lose your evenings making materials from scratch. You walk in and teach.
• Change anything that isn't good enough. Those resources are a starting point, not a script. If you can teach it better, you have the freedom to, and we want you to.
• Build with the best. Regular sessions with the other top teachers on your team: comparing what's working, pulling apart what isn't, sharing the things only great teachers know.
• Own the improvement loop. Ideate, test, signal yes or no, roll out company-wide. A good idea you have on a Tuesday can be in every Syllabi classroom by the following week.

And here's what you won't do: no marking, no behaviour management, no student admin, no chasing, no paperwork. None of it. Every week, you'll teach thousands of students. What you build may help millions.

> Who we're looking for

First, and above everything else: are you a genuinely brilliant, engaging teacher? The kind students remember years later. The kind who walks into a room and the energy changes. The kind whose lesson is the best part of a kid's week. That is the single thing we care about most, and it's the hardest to fake. We can teach you our platform. We cannot teach you presence. That has to already be there.

Beyond that, we filter for:

• Personality. You're magnetic in front of a class. Students want to show up because you're teaching.
• Craft. You're never quite satisfied with a lesson. You notice the bit that didn't land and you fix it. Being good isn't enough for you.
• Forward-thinking. You don't teach the way you do because that's how it's always been done. You're hungry for a better way.
• Ownership. Hand you a class or a problem and it's handled. No chasing.
• Hunger. You want to be part of building something that changes UK education, not just clock teaching hours.
• Scope to grow. You start at 6 hours a week, but we're looking for people who genuinely want to grow to 15 or more hours over time. If 6 hours is your ceiling, this role is not for you.

• Unrestricted right to work in the UK long-term, and UK based for the duration of the role. We don't sponsor visas.
• Grade 9/A* or above in GCSE Mathematics and Grade A* at A Level Mathematics.
• Completed, or studying towards, a degree in Mathematics or a highly quantitative subject, achieving or on track for a 2:1 or above, ideally at a leading UK university.
• Confident teaching GCSE Mathematics across Higher and Foundation tiers, including students targeting Grades 7 to 9.
• Experience supporting students through UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Cambridge International, or similar).
• A strong track record of student outcomes. You can point to meaningful grade improvements or consistently excellent results.
• Excellent knowledge of GCSE exam technique, including how marks are won and lost, common misconceptions, and how to teach students to approach unfamiliar problems.

Strong candidates also: hold PGCE and QTS (preferred but not essential for exceptional tutors with substantial experience); have examining experience; have taught large groups online; or have experience teaching Further Mathematics or A Level Mathematics.
