An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to support neurodiverse pupils in a small, inclusive school environment. This role involves delivering tailored Maths sessions, fostering positive relationships, and helping students achieve their learning goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine passion for education. In return, the school offers a supportive atmosphere, opportunities for professional development, and a focus on wellbeing. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners while enjoying a fulfilling career.
About The Role
Every young pupil deserves the right to access meaningful education. However, some pupils may require additional support to engage in their education which is built around their needs, skills, and interests. That’s where you come in. As a teacher, you’ll work with neurodiverse children and young people who may have additional needs relating to communication and interaction, cognition and learning, sensory and/or physical needs.
You'll teach Maths, delivering sessions to small groups or supporting individual pupils. As we’re a small school, you may need to teach other subjects as part of your role.
Our curriculum is tailored to each pupil, rather than taking a conventional mainstream approach and as such learning is based on individual needs, goals, strengths, and aspirations. Whilst some of our pupils will progress to formal qualifications, we also measure success in other ways by taking a holistic approach to education - supporting children with their social, emotional and mental health development, and providing opportunities to gain transferable life skills that are essential for their transition into adulthood.
Typically, classes are made up of five pupils which will provide you with the opportunity to develop positive relationships with the pupils you support and to connect with them.
