Job Title: Mathematics Visiting Lecturer (SEN College - Post-16 Learners)
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Part-Time (3 Days per Week)

Are you a passionate and experienced Maths educator with a strong background in Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are currently seeking a Mathematics Visiting Lecturer to join a welcoming and well-regarded SEN college in Birmingham. This is a part-time role (3 days per week) starting in September 2025, working with post-16 learners who require a tailored and inclusive approach to learning.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible maths sessions to post-16 learners with diverse SEN profiles, including ASD, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Develop differentiated lesson plans that cater to individual learning needs.
  • Work closely with support staff and SEN specialists to ensure a collaborative approach to student development.
  • Track and report on learner progress in line with college requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd or equivalent).
  • Proven experience delivering mathematics at post-16 level, ideally within a further education or SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and experience adapting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
