Kent Tech seeks a Mathematics Head of Department to lead a dedicated team from September 2025. We desire a proactive leader with a proven success track record in teaching A-Level Maths, demonstrating innovation and leadership to enhance student engagement and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of success in teaching and departmental leadership.
• Ability to teach Maths to A-Level and preferably Further Maths.

Due to the relocation of our current Head of Department, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced, creative and innovative Maths leader, to lead our dedicated Maths team from September 2025.

The candidate will have a proven track record of success and be able to demonstrate delivering transformational change in a previous or current role. The ability to teach Maths to A-Level is essential and the ability to teach Further Maths at A-Level desirable. We welcome applications from creative and dynamic teachers who can contribute to this vision.

The Mathematics Department runs smoothly and our students achieve well. Our core purpose is to enable our learners to achieve their full potential by igniting their curiosity and determination. The Mathematics Department offers a full mathematics curriculum and teachers are expected to be able to teach across Key stages 3 to 5. Mathematics is our most popular A-Level course, with a further cohort of students studying Further Mathematics as an additional A-Level. At GCSE, Further Maths and Statistics are popular options for our students. The team has a range of experience within it including Lead Practitioners and ECTs.

We would welcome applicants from current Heads of Department who are looking to develop their Leadership experience in a different context, or from outstanding teachers who are able to demonstrate their readiness for the next stage in their teaching career.

The main campus for TWGSB is in Tunbridge Wells. However, you may be required to work at other campuses connected to TWGSB.
