Mathematics Graduate Learning Support Assistant

Full-Time Salary: £90 - £110 per day

Are you a Mathematics graduate with a passion for education and helping students excel? We are working with an Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in vibrant West London that is looking for Mathematics graduates to join their team as Learning Support Assistants or to help cover lessons in Mathematics and general subjects.

This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). By providing focused and empathetic support, you'll play a key role in helping them overcome barriers, build confidence, and develop their mathematical abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging Mathematics lessons.
  2. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students needing additional help, with a focus on SEND learners.
  3. Identify the unique needs of SEND students and create tailored strategies to address their challenges in Mathematics.
  4. Support students with SEN in regaining confidence in their mathematical skills and engaging fully in the classroom.
  5. Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  6. Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and parents, celebrating achievements and improvements.
  7. Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to further enhance student development.

Requirements:

  1. A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  2. Passion for teaching and supporting students, particularly those with SEND.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  5. Flexibility and a willingness to collaborate with teachers and staff.
  6. Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
