Job description

Would you like to join our friendly Maternity Ward Clerk team at Scarborough Hospital? In this role you will provide a wide range of Ward Clerk administrative tasks, including clerical support and reception duties within the Maternity Unit. The role is varied and busy, and you will also provide clerical support across the wider Women’s Health department when required. Part time – 22.5 hours per week for nine months to cover maternity leave. This post may become permanent at the end of the fixed term. If applying as a secondment, please seek permission from your current line manager before applying. Previous applicants need not apply. Interviews will be held face‑to‑face only; remote requests are not accommodated. You must be self‑disciplined, motivated, empathetic, able to prioritise your workload, possess sound communication skills, work as part of a team, and exercise initiative within set parameters. You should demonstrate the Trust’s values of compassion, willingness to put the welfare of others above your own interests, and personal accountability. Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
