Maternity Vaccination Nurse/Midwife

We are looking for an enthusiastic registered nurse or midwife to join the maternity vaccination team here at UHL, who will assist in providing a vaccination service to women and their newborns.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a vaccination service for pregnant women and their newborns.
- Offer health education around immunisations in pregnancy and beyond.
- Use health-related information only for its intended purpose and in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, ensuring information relating to patients/users and personnel is used only in connection with authorized duties.
- Carry out designated clerical duties as delegated by the Midwife - Ward Manager, Registered Midwife, or other Healthcare Professional.
- Manage stock levels, including ordering and efficient use of stock, sundries, and resources within your work activities.

Job responsibilities
- Follow relevant CMG, Trust, Regional, and National policies and guidelines, keeping updated accordingly.
- Support the updating of CMG guidance as requested.
- Maintain a professional manner at all times, abiding by legal and statutory requirements, including the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and midwives' rules if applicable.
- Communicate clearly with women and their families.
- Provide non-judgmental and non-directive support and information.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records.
- Ensure effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Utilize communication systems effectively within the CMG.
- Be part of a supportive, non-judgmental environment for colleagues.
Person Specification
Experience
- Willing to learn about immunisations and undertake these.
- Experience in administering immunisations or vaccinations.
Skills
- Teaching and assessment skills.
- Recognized teaching qualifications.
Training & Qualifications
- Degree-level Nurse/Midwife qualification.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Communication and Relationship Skills
- Effective communicator able to engage with patients, families, and staff, even in stressful circumstances.
- Relevant additional training or courses.
Planning and Organisation Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
