Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Chesterfield is seeking a Maternity Support Worker on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role involves supporting midwives in delivering high-quality antenatal and postnatal care to women and their families. Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends. The position offers a competitive salary between £24,937 and £26,598 pro rata per annum.

Qualifications

  • NHS experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding and Health and Safety issues.
  • One year's clinical experience in a hospital setting required.

Responsibilities

Maternity Support Worker, Community based

An opportunity has arisen to join Chesterfield Royal Hospital as a Midwifery Support Worker on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave

The post holder will support and assist midwives in the delivery of holistic, high quality, evidence‑based antenatal and postnatal care to women and their families.

The post holder will undertake unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the midwife, within agreed guidelines and sphere of responsibility.

Main duties of the job

This role provides support to Midwives ensuring that women receive high standards of maternity care throughout our service.

You must possess excellent communication and team working qualities with a willingness to learn new skills, with full training and support provided, and also have the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of the multi‑professional team. The post holder will be required to work a shift pattern that covers weekends and Bank holidays.
