A leading UK healthcare provider is seeking a Maternity Support Worker to assist midwives in providing care within inpatient wards and antenatal clinics. Successful candidates will have a Level 3 qualification in Health Care, GCSEs or equivalent, and a Care Certificate. This role offers opportunities for skill development and career progression within a supportive team environment.
We are looking for Maternity Support Workers to join our midwifery teams working within our inpatient wards, delivery suite or antenatal clinic. The primary role of a Maternity Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the midwife and wider multidisciplinary team: in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to care.
The midwife is ultimately responsible for the care of the mother and her new-born(s), and it is under the direct or indirect supervision of the midwife that the MSW assists with and provides clinical care following completion of any relevant or appropriate training.
The post holder is expected to undertake a set of defined competencies, support will be given to employees to further develop their skills and explore pathways for progression where appropriate.
