Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a compassionate Maternity Support Worker to join the Prince Charles Hospital maternity team. You will support mothers and babies with daily care needs, assist with observations and clinical tasks, and promote infant feeding within a woman-centred care environment.

Under supervision, you will work with midwives and a multidisciplinary team, providing emotional support to families and a welcoming atmosphere.

Are you a caring, motivated individual who is passionate about supporting women, babies and families? We are looking for a compassionate Maternity Support Worker to join our dedicated maternity team at Prince Charles Hospital. Working alongside midwives and other healthcare professionals, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, woman-centred care across maternity services. You will support mothers and babies with their daily care needs, assist with observations and clinical tasks, promote infant feeding, provide emotional support, and help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for families., The successful applicant will be based aat Prince Charles Hospital but maybe expected to work at other sites within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as required. Applicants will be employed on a permanent contract basis. This is an exciting role for the successful applicant. The Post Holder will undertake delegated duties, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife, and following a period of training and completion of core competencies. This post does not carry managerial responsibility. Main duties include:

• Working as part of the nursing and wider multi-disciplinary team providing kind, compassionate, respectful person and family-integrated care to babies, parents, and families
• Providing public health, health promotion and ill health prevention teaching, advice, and support to parents and families.
• Welcoming babies, parents, families, and visitors, providing assistance, support, and information
  The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a caring and professional approach, and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy multidisciplinary team. Previous healthcare experience is desirable, although full training and ongoing development will be provided.
