A prominent health organization is seeking motivated staff nurses for their labour ward theatre and recovery areas. Candidates will assist with operative deliveries, participate in ongoing educational programs, and have opportunities for training towards advancement. Nursing experience in an acute setting is essential, but newly qualified nurses are welcome as full training will be given. The environment is friendly and supportive, aimed at promoting best practices in women's health.
Are you interested in Women’s health issues and keen to develop your surgical and nursing skills? We are currently looking to recruit staff nurses to work in the labour ward theatre and recovery areas.
You will work alongside midwives in the recovery area and labour ward theatre, assist with operative deliveries, and learn new skills such as cell salvage and enhanced recovery clinic care. Experience on a surgical ward or in theatres is advantageous, but the post also suits newly qualified nurses as full training will be given.
We offer training to fast‑track to a Band 6 staff nurse once you have completed 2 of 3 post‑registration courses, including perioperative nursing, acute and high‑dependency nursing, and nursing care in the maternity setting.
Whittington Health’s maternity unit has award‑winning facilities and is well‑known as a friendly unit where staff are well supported through strong practice development. You must have nursing experience working in an acute hospital setting, ideally from a medical or surgical background. The work is varied and you will rotate between the maternity high‑dependency recovery area and labour ward theatre.
We work closely with Middlesex University and there are numerous opportunities to participate in educational programmes. Full training will be given to scrub in theatre if you are successful at interview.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs of women who have undergone operative delivery in the Maternity Observation area, theatre and recovery, working in partnership with the midwives.
The post holder is also expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision, and will be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise qualified and unqualified staff.
Whittington Health is committed to safeguarding all children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We are an equal‑opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified individuals.
