Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
• Degree level qualification in Midwifery or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Significant post‑registration experience in maternity services at Band 6/7 level.
• Knowledge of governance, quality assurance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support quality improvement projects aligned to maternity priorities.
• Coordinate clinical audits, service evaluations and quality assurance activities.
• Support implementation and monitoring of action plans from incidents and reports.
• Collect, analyse and present data to identify trends and drive decisions.
• Support compliance with maternity safety standards and governance requirements.
• Produce reports and assurance documentation for governance meetings.
• Provide guidance on quality improvement methodologies and patient safety initiatives.
• Foster a learning culture and drive sustainable service improvements.
