Overview

Royal London Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work in Ward 6E/F, Maternity. This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Healthcare Support Workers as well as attracting individuals who are new to care. You will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within 6 months upon successful completion of all required competencies; until then, you will be placed at a Band 2 salary. We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake delegated clinical tasks as part of the nursing team under direct supervision of the registered nurse, to support patient care and safety.
  • Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs).
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility.
  • Supporting patients\' nutritional and hydration needs.
  • Undertaking limited delegated duties (e.g. taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening).
  • Ward maintenance.
  • Venepuncture.
  • Newborn baby care and observations including the Newborn Blood Spot test.
  • Strong teamworking and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients.
Notes

The post holder will be an integral part of the nursing team and will continue to develop essential competencies through training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.
