The NHS is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated GP for a maternity cover role at a supportive practice in Sheffield. This part-time position offers 4-5 clinical sessions per week, with responsibilities including patient consultations, administrative tasks, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated GP to join ourfriendly and supportive practice team for a maternity locum role.
This part time position is for 4-5 clinical sessions perweek on a fixed-term contract. The post is for an initial 6-month period withthe possibility of an extension for a further 6 months. We would be looking forthe successful candidate to start in September 2025. There may be someflexibility around the working days for the right candidate.

The post-holder will make themselves available to undertakea variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultationsand queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeatprescriptions, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely manner.
Situated in the heart of Richmond, Sheffield, we are adynamic 4 partner surgery with a patient list size of 9,900. Our practice fallswithin the boundary of South Yorkshire ICB and we are part of the collaborative2 Townships PCN which consists of 5 practices.
We are a patient centric practice with a family orientatedapproach, and are keen advocates of Greener Practice credentials.
Our multidisciplinary team includes 5 other salaried GPs, 3practice nurses, 3 healthcare assistants, as well as an experiencedadministrative and reception team. Our ARRs roles include a physiotherapist,social prescribers, an occupational therapist, HCA and pharmacists.
As an accredited training practice, we provide education forGP trainees. Our team of Partners are experienced trainers committed tomentoring the next generation of clinicians.
The following are the core responsibilities of the salariedGP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this willbe dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care tothe practice population
The provision of services commensurate with theGMS contract
Generic prescribing adhering to local andnational guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Processing of administration in a timely manner,including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associatedadministrative tasks
Maintain accurate clinical records inconjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively, accepting an equalshare of the practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended throughclinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation ofcontinuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specificarea (or areas) of the QOF
Attend and contribute effectively to practicemeetings as required
To carry out weekly visits and provide ongoingtreatment to one of our homes, Beechy Knoll
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos ofcontinuing professional development across the practice team
Support the training of medical students fromall clinical disciplines
Support the partners in achieving the strategicaims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduceexpenditure
Encourage collaborative working, liaising withall staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all time
