Job summary

The Rycote Practice is seeking a Fixed-term Salaried GP to cover maternity leave in the primary care team. The post requires autonomous work with a full range of GP duties, including on-call responsibilities and extended hours rotas.

You will provide high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining patient continuity and contributing to local teaching and governance. GMC registration is essential and the role aligns with NHS principles.

Qualifications

• Autonomous GP integrated with the primary care team.
• Full range of GP knowledge, skills and professional behaviours expected.
• Exercise professional autonomy and clinical judgement in delivering evidence-based care.
• Participate in GP team activities including duty doctor, on-call and extended hours rotas.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with acute illnesses and chronic disease management.
• Work autonomously but in partnership with the clinical, reception, admin and management teams.
• Record consultations on a contemporaneous basis and maintain up-to-date patient lists.
• Respond to prescription requests and medicines management tasks promptly.
• Participate in enhanced services, governance and teaching activities.
