Maternity Care Assistant - Part Time 15 hours per week
The post holder will provide support to the Antenatal Services team, mothers and their families working in collaboration with the Midwives and wider multidisciplinary team to provide the highest standard of care. The successful applicant will carry out assigned tasks including direct clinical care, to mothers and their babies. The role is varied and includes providing support within the Antenatal Clinic, Maternity Assessment Unit and in the operating theatre during planned caesarean sections.
Main tasks will include undertaking vital sign observations, venepuncture, data entry onto electronic patient records (EPR), chaperoning doctors and keeping the clinical areas clean and well stocked at all times.
Shift patterns vary between long and short day shifts as well as night shifts 7 days a week.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
