An exciting opportunity to join our Maternity service to work with the administration team within our Antenatal services. We are looking for 3 Administrators for the department who will require to work 1:3 weekend.


Your role will be to provide a comprehensive and quality administrative and clerical support for the department to ensure smooth running of the inpatient and outpatients maternity service.


You will be able to deal confidently and efficiently with telephone calls directly from the general public and clinical staff. You will be expected to produce work to a high standard of accuracy, and be aware of implications of errors. You will be expected to work with the team to identify and resolve any administrative issues. You will be supported to develop a broad knowledge of the Maternity pathways and processes which are essential to the delivery of your role.

Main duties of the job


The post holder is responsible for providing a comprehensive and high quality of administrative, clerical and reception support for the department to ensure smooth running of the inpatient and outpatients maternity services.

The post holder is responsible for the day to day running of the centralised booking service for women requiring access to antenatal, intra-partum and postnatal services. They will need to ensure appointments are accurately calculated and communicated in a timely fashion, in line with the Maternity policies and procedures. The role includes patient registration, booking appointments, clinic preparation, reception cover, answering the telephone line queries, calling patients and sending text reminders, pulling and filing notes and other administrative duries throughout the Maternity Unit.

At times, you will be expected to cover maternity ward areas, Day Assessment Unit/Triage clinic reception areas at short notice due to staff absences or work load increases at peak times. You are also expected to work 1:3 weekend. Full training will be provided and an intensive induction week.

This is a multi-skilled and multi-tasked role therefore the post holder will be expected to be flexible and rotate with other team members thereby ensuring cover across all areas in the Women and Children division.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a reception, data entry or administration role or team
