Tarmac Clitheroe Asphalt Plant in Lancashire is seeking a Materials Testing Technician to perform daily sampling and testing of aggregates and asphalt materials. You will record and analyse results, monitor quality for customers, and operate laboratory equipment across the NorthWest region.

The role involves occasional travel to nearby sites, requires strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and teamwork. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Laboratory experience in quality control, construction materials, aggregates or asphalt sector, or the ability to train quickly with positive behaviours.
• Proactive, hardworking and self-motivated approach.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Numerical confidence and ability to interpret data and results.
• Good IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Sample and test aggregates and asphalt materials on a daily basis.
• Accurately record, analyse and report test results.
• Monitor product quality for internal and external customers.
• Operate specialist laboratory equipment such as ovens, furnaces, sieves, weighing apparatus and other scientific testing tools.
• Travel to other local Tarmac sites for sampling and testing activities as required.
• Identify and escalate any quality concerns or potential issues.
• Work safely at all times in accordance with Health and Safety procedures and standards.
