Job summary

CWA in Avonmouth is offering a Construction Materials Technician Apprenticeship linked to Sizewell C. You'll learn to test concrete, aggregates, and cement, support UKAS accreditation, and gain hands-on experience on a major nuclear project.

No prior experience required; you will train for 21 months with online and on-site learning, meeting safety standards and eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

• Be 16+ and not in full-time education.
• Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• You must be 18+ due to the working environment.
• Applicants should not already hold a Level 3, degree or higher qualification in a closely related subject.

Responsibilities

• Test construction materials like concrete, aggregates, and cement to meet high standards.
• Travel to site locations to collect materials and conduct tests.
• Support UKAS accreditation by following quality and safety standards.
• Develop skills in non-destructive testing and other advanced techniques.
• Complete a 21-month Level 3 Apprenticeship and pursue higher qualifications.
