The role:
The Construction materials testing technician, carries out on-site sampling and in-situ testing of construction materials in accordance with British and European Standards, working independently on live sites while representing the business professionally.
Typical duties include:
- On-site sampling and in-situ testing of soils, asphalt, concrete and aggregates.
- Liaising directly with site managers, engineers and clients.
- Accurate recording, checking and reporting of test data.
- Working to quality systems and test procedures.
Qualifications and responsibilities
- You are a graduate technician with a year or two of experience or a lab technician wanting to move into site work, training to work independently on live construction sites.
- Experience of testing soils, asphalt, concrete or ground investigations.
- Have a full UK driving licence, strong client-facing communication skills.
- High attention to detail and quality standards.
