Reed Specialist Recruitment in Sheffield is seeking a Materials Requirements Planning Controller to manage supplier performance, coordinate material supply, and align inventory with production needs in a fast-paced engineering environment.

The role collaborates with Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics, requires experience in materials planning or supply chain, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, with an early finish Fridays and flexi time as part of the days-based schedule.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Materials Planning, Procurement or Supply chain within engineering or manufacturing.
• Proficient in using ERP systems and MRP systems.
• Strong capability in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and performance, taking ownership of a designated supplier portfolio, conducting reviews, visits, and monitoring KPIs such as OTIF and RFT.
• Control supplier pricing and procurement activities, negotiating competitive rates, managing annual price reviews, raising purchase orders, and maintaining visibility of supplier spend.
• Ensure material availability for production, optimising inventory levels, managing MRP requirements, and working closely with Planning to prevent production delays.
• Resolve supply chain and delivery issues proactively, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain operational continuity.
• Maintain accurate systems and stakeholder communication, ensuring data integrity, supporting goods receipt processes, and providing timely updates to internal teams and customers on delivery status.

Annual Salary: £35,000

Location: Sheffield

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Days based role - with early finish Fridays & Flexi Time Available

Role Summary

This role will be responsible for managing supplier performance, coordinating material supply, and ensuring inventory levels are aligned with production requirements. Working closely with Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining a reliable supply chain and supporting on time customer delivery within a fast-paced engineering environment. The ideal candidate will come from a Materials Planning, Procurement or Supply chain background within the engineering or manufacturing industry.

Day-to-day of the role:
