Job Opportunity: Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist (6 Months+)
Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
PAYE SALARY: £32,000 - £40,000 (Depending on Experience)
A leading global company is looking for a dedicated Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist to join their team in Basingstoke. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, playing a crucial role in ensuring all materials are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and order direct materials from internal and external vendors on time, prioritizing OTTR (On-Time to Request) and OTD (On-Time Delivery) targets.
Manage and report on the inventory of direct materials (Raw, WIP, Reserved, Aging) weekly, aiming to reduce stock holding and improve materials availability.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and other business functions to ensure the timely and efficient supply of materials to meet production and service needs.
Identify and resolve parts shortages, explore re-use and alternative parts options, and proactively manage engineering change requests.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance materials management processes, reducing costs and improving service levels.
Key Skills & Experience:
Previous experience within a supply chain, materials, or stores function.
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Degree qualification preferred.
