Job Description

Alexander Steele are working with an ambient food manufacturer in West Yorkshire which are looking to recruit a Materials Planning Manager. The ideal candidate has experience leading a team and has experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Stock Replenishment team, including appraisals, reviews, and personal development.
  • Oversee supplier performance, acting as first point of escalation for shortages or quality issues.
  • Manage contracts (4–13 weeks) and call-offs (1–3 weeks) in line with forecasts and production plans.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Commercial, and GTM teams to ensure accurate and timely call-offs and contracts.
  • Maintain KPIs, dashboards, purchase orders, stock levels, and safety stocks, ensuring data accuracy across systems (Sage, Infor).
  • Drive continuous improvement across stock replenishment systems, processes, and supplier management.
  • Manage supplier relationships end-to-end, including expediting materials, monitoring contracts, handling queries, and reducing obsolescence risk.
  • Lead packaging management, including redesigns, delists, and NPD launches.
  • Resolve invoice queries, raise hold/rejection notes, and support stock take activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies on health & safety, brand integrity, and professional standards.
  • Take an active role in self-development, training, and contributing to ad hoc projects as required.
