Job summary

ABB UK in Stonehouse is seeking an Inventory Planner to oversee end-to-end inventory planning, including safety stock, reorder points, and replenishment. The role supports internal customer service inquiries and works with operations to ensure timely purchases.

You will partner with buyers to optimize supplier performance, implement segmentation-based policies, and maintain ERP data accuracy. The position is hybrid, based at Stonehouse with one day work-from-home.

Qualifications

• Proven materials management and purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP).
• Proficient in Excel.
• Inventory management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Defining inventory policies based on specified segmentation.
• Calculating and maintaining the inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies, in the planning systems and the ERPs.
• Coordinating material planning with call-offs to ensure that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services.
• Collaborating with buyers to achieve the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity, quality, lead time, and flexibility

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory, including Sales in Excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Each day, you will support internal customer service inquiries. You will also showcase your expertise by setting inventory parameters and targets and ensuring the adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.
