Job summary

CELEROS Flow Technology is seeking a Materials Planner to manage material planning and ensure timely material availability to support production schedules. The role requires coordinating with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to optimize inventory and reduce lead times.

The ideal candidate will have strong ERP/MRP skills, experience in manufacturing, and the ability to collaborate across departments in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in materials planning or supply chain in manufacturing.
  • Experience with complex project-based manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain material requirements plans for production cells.
  • Analyse production schedules and forecasts to determine material needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages or excesses.
  • Coordinate with procurement and production teams for timely materials delivery.
  • Utilise ERP systems to track usage, forecast needs and report metrics.
  • Lead cross-departmental meetings to address material issues.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Materials Planner will be responsible for planning and managing materials for a specific part families. This role is crucialfor ensuring that materials are available when needed to support producton schedules and ensuring producton order

completon is aligned to the schedule while maintaining optmal inventory levels by liaising with engineering, procurement,

manufacturing engineering and producton schedulers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) for assigned producton cells, ensuring alignment with project schedules and customer demands.
  • Analyse producton schedules and forecasts to determine material needs and procurement tmelines
  • Monitor inventory levels, identfiying potental shortages or excesses, and recommend actons to optmise stock levels.
  • Coordinate with procurement and producton teams to ensure tmely delivery of materials, minimising disruptons to operations
  • Utlise ERP systems to track material usage, forecast needs, and report on inventory performance metrics
  • Analyse historical data to improve forecastng accuracy and adjust planning parameters as needed
  • Collaborate with producton, project management, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment on material requirements and producton schedules
  • Partcipate in cross-departmental meetngs to address material-related issues and contribute to problem-solving efforts
  • Identfy opportunites for process enhancements within the materials planning functon and implement best practces to improve efficiency
  • Lead initatves aimed at reducing lead tmes, improving inventory turnover, and optmising material flow
  • Maintain accurate records of material transactons and generate reports for management on inventory status, planning metrics, and any issues encountered
  • Prepare and present recommendatons for inventory and materials management improvement
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in complex project-based manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of successful producton planning and scheduling
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of materials management principles, inventory control, and producton scheduling
  • ASCM (formally APICS) certficaton (CPIM or CSCP) or equivalent is desirable
