Job description
Overview

As our Materials Management Officer / Driver, you will work as an integral part of the team ensuring that internal supply chain services are maintained, including receipts, distribution and/or materials management using computerised receipts, storage and/or bar-coded data capture systems within the warehouse and the wider Trust amongst other duties. You will also deliver goods to various locations within the Trust portfolio and to the public when required, which may involve going through a patient’s threshold to put goods away.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver goods to locations within the Trust portfolio and, when required, to the public (e.g., continence products and wound dressings).
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills; work under non-direct supervision and prioritise own workload.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to respond to changing workloads and maintain a professional approach at all times.
  • Liaise with Trust staff at all levels, providing assistance face to face and over the telephone.
  • Provide customer liaison and helpdesk services, manage telephone enquiries, give advice and resolve queries and problems.
  • Expedite outstanding orders, inform users of product delays or shortages, and actively source alternatives.
  • Research and identify new or alternative products and sources of supply.
  • Note that this post requires an Enhanced DBS check, which the Trust will cover; applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with and assist Trust staff throughout the working day.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and manage a flexible approach to workload.
  • Willingness to operate within an ever-changing workload and respond appropriately to demands.
