Job description

The Materials Management Officers are a vital part of the Operating Department Stores team, based in both the Day Surgery Unit and Main Theatres. They ensure that clinical staff have the necessary equipment and stock to treat patients effectively and safely. Working alongside the Information Team, they support the Resource Co-ordinator in delivering this service for the theatre areas.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to actively assist in managing theatre resources, including organizing loan kits, monitoring stock levels and rotation, minimizing waste, liaising with finance and suppliers regarding invoice queries, and contributing to the theatre cost improvement programme. The post holder will also assist in accurate coding to relevant budgets and identify areas for potential cost savings.

The Resource & Information Team offers various learning opportunities, both in-house and external, to support staff development. This role is diverse within a developing team, providing exciting opportunities for growth. The posts operate Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm.

The post holder should have good communication and IT skills, and be approachable and supportive to clinical staff, visitors, and team members.
