Main duties of the job

Knowledge:

  • Educated to GSCE ‘O’ level/ONC standard in English and Mathematics.
  • Proficient with PC, including Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Training:

  • Good interpersonal skills and effective communication with management, staff, stakeholders, clinical staff, budget holders, and suppliers.

Experience:

  • Experience in a supply chain or logistics environment.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, such as retail or hospitality.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Replenish goods at ward, theatre, and departmental levels using barcode systems, following PAR levels.
  • Assist staff and budget holders in maintaining stock levels and inventory accuracy.
  • Prioritize tasks, identify trends, initiate corrective actions, and report exceptions.
  • Adhere to scanning schedules and maintain records electronically and physically.
  • Support e-procurement and inventory management systems.
  • Ensure accurate, timely deliveries and proper storage.
  • Provide monthly stock counts and ensure storerooms are clean and waste is disposed of properly.
  • Process purchase orders and assist with procurement as needed.
  • Maintain records and statistical data, ensuring templates are current.
  • Answer calls, attend meetings, and interact with systems like the AGV.
  • Log expired and wasted stock, resolve materials management queries, and chase outstanding orders.
  • Operate office equipment and ensure procurement requests are made through appropriate channels.
