Job summary

Omega Resource Group currently seeks a Materials Manager for a permanent role in Gloucester. The successful candidate will oversee materials management, recycling processes, procurement activities, and site logistics.

The ideal candidate will have strong inventory management, ERP experience, and excellent communication to lead teams and optimize material flow for on-time delivery. This position offers an enhanced pension and retailer discounts.

Qualifications

• Background in material planning or supply chain within manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Strong inventory management and stock control experience.
• Excellent communication with ability to lead and influence others.
• Strong IT skills with experience using stock control or ERP systems.
• Outstanding organisation and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing the collection, segregation, storage, and reprocessing of production waste materials.
• Planning and coordinating recycling operations, including shredding and pelletising waste materials for reuse in production.
• Overseeing materials handling, warehouse activities, product packing, and vehicle loading to support customer delivery requirements.
• Ensuring that all incoming goods and purchase order receipts are checked for quantity and specification compliance before stock allocation.
• Raising and expediting purchase orders for production materials and consumables.
• Monitoring supplier performance and negotiating prices to keep costs down
• Working closely with production, planning, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth material flow and on-time delivery performance.
