Job summary

Belcan in Cheltenham is seeking a proactive Materials & Logistics Coordinator on an initial 12-month contract to join our engineering and manufacturing facility. You will manage receipt, storage and distribution of stock, monitor inventory levels, raise POs, coordinate shipments, and liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available for production.

Qualifications

• Experience in a stores, warehouse, inventory control, purchasing, materials planning, or logistics role.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work independently.
• Good communication skills and confidence in dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and stock management/ERP systems.
• A proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of stock, materials, and components.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to maintain stock availability.
• Raise purchase orders and proactively follow up on supplier deliveries.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, availability, and order status.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, including transport and logistics arrangements.
• Ensure materials are available to support production and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support continuous improvement of stock control processes.
