Job summary

MSS in Inverness is seeking an experienced Materials Laboratory Technician to join our Field Team. You will carry out testing of soils, aggregates and construction materials in a busy laboratory environment.

You will ensure accuracy, maintain traceable records, and support quality procedures and health and safety requirements on major projects across Scotland and the wider UK. The role offers training, career progression, and a path within the Celnor Group's expanding testing network.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in materials testing laboratory.
• Experience with BS 1377 and BS EN 933 standards.
• Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 and quality systems.
• Experience calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Receive, register and manage samples with full traceability.
• Perform testing on soils, aggregates and related materials.
• Record and verify test data and results accurately.
• Maintain calibration records and equipment schedules.
• Support internal audits and quality assessments.
