Materials Handler II – Farnborough

Who are we:

Auxitrol Weston Operating Unit (OU) comprises three manufacturing plants: Auxitrol SAS (France), Weston Aerospace Ltd (UK), and Auxitrol Weston (Mexico). It also includes three R&D departments located in France, UK, and Norwich Aero Products Inc (US), along with repair facilities in France, UK, and Singapore.

Weston Aerospace Ltd employs approximately 175 staff at Farnborough, responsible for designing and manufacturing temperature, speed, and pressure sensors for gas turbine and airframe applications. Additionally, there is a smaller analogue indicators manufacturing site in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, with 16 employees.

Job Overview/Purpose:

Reporting to the Team Leader for Material Management, the Level II Material Handler will operate within the supply chain to facilitate smooth incoming and outgoing material flow. The role requires a good understanding of export compliance, and adherence to customer and company procedures. The role also involves maintaining departmental targets related to Operational Excellence and Customer OTIF.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in the picking, packing, and dispatch of all work and sales orders within a stores environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate dispatch paperwork, pick, and pack according to customer specifications.
  • Book work orders to stock and store items correctly.
  • Manage and order packaging materials.
  • Control parts with shelf life considerations.
  • Perform daily cycle counts.
  • Generate paperwork and labels, ensuring traceability for Temperature, Speed, and P&D products.
  • Prepare paperwork and labels for shipments to Mexico, including picking and packing.
  • Transfer and adjust stock on Baan ERP system.
  • Understand reason codes for stock movements.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of Baan or similar ERP systems.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adherence to company and customer procedures.
  • Good numerical and literacy skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an aerospace stores environment.

Essential:

Staff at this level are expected to be skilled in various store functions and capable of training others. They must be familiar with company procedures and understand the importance of traceability in aerospace stores.
