Job Summary

Based in our thriving manufacturing centre of excellence, the Materials Engineering Technician will join a busy team specialising in providing composite manufacturing engineering capability to operational and developmental programmes to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilising engineering and problem solving skills, whilst being accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials and processes.

Job Responsibilities

The post holder will specifically be responsible for the monitoring of production by both test and audit, ensuring robust process selection, implementation & control. They will also support the delivery and deployment of a robust, repeatable and reliable manufacturing process that meets all the requirements of both the Business and our customers.

• Authorised Stamp Holder (MLSR)
• Monitoring the processes, and maintaining the system that is capable of meeting all regulatory, internal and external requirements.
• Compilation of reports for the defined area under guidance of senior staff.
• Compilation of documents for the process controls within the area. e.g. LTI or process specifications
• Working as part of a team to improve and develop the process control schedules.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 (HNC) in a related subject (or equivalent), with evidence of some practical industry experience;
• A sound knowledge of composite materials engineering, with knowledge of processing methods and products in composite manufacturing;
• Awareness of continuous improvement and Lean management.
• Proactive with regard to new developments and of expertise required.
• Good interpersonal skills with effective team working, and the capability of interfacing professionally with customers and suppliers;
• Proven ability to work and to deliver under own initiative.
• Ability to manage and to coordinate internal/external customer requirements.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, strong minded and committed.
• Flexible and capable of working in a complex environment.
