Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a motivated Materials Engineer to join our Bristol team. You will apply your knowledge of concrete durability, corrosion, coatings and related materials to assess existing structures and help develop remediation strategies.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver durability modelling, write technical specifications, supervise on-site activities, and present findings to clients while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline; chartership is beneficial.
• Experience inspecting, investigating and assessing civil engineering structures.
• Willingness to travel nationally or internationally and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Prepare durability assessments identifying deterioration mechanisms and develop solutions.
• Provide support on materials selection, performance, deterioration and repair.
• Plan investigations to evaluate current condition and residual life.
• Develop protection, maintenance and repair strategies including cathodic protection.
• Communicate findings through reports and presentations to clients.
