Job summary

The Graphene Engineering & Innovation Centre (GEIC) in Manchester is inviting applications for a full-time Composites Materials Developer to join our advanced materials team. You will contribute to developing and processing fibre reinforced plastic materials while helping operate and maintain our world-class laboratories.

You will collaborate with colleagues across the 2D materials laboratories and GEIC technical support teams to deliver scalable up-processing capabilities for industry partners,

Qualifications

  • Experience in composites materials development.
  • Experience with fibre reinforced plastics.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and process fibre reinforced plastic materials.
  • Operate and maintain GEIC laboratories to high standards.
  • Collaborate across laboratories to enable scalable processing for industry partners.

Job description

The Graphene Engineering & Innovation Centre (GEIC) is a world class hub for graphene and 2D materials development and commercialisation. Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of next generation materials and processes, helping industry bring advanced technologies to market both in the UK and globally.
We are inviting applications for a full time Composites Materials Developer. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to join a team working at the forefront of advanced materials innovation.
As a Composites Materials Developer, you will contribute to a broad range of activities, including the development and processing of fibre reinforced plastic materials. You will also play a key role in operating and maintaining our state of the art laboratories and facilities, ensuring they run to the highest standards.
Collaboration is central to this position. You will work closely with colleagues across the 2D materials laboratories, as well as the GEIC technical support teams, to deliver a first class, scalable up processing capability for industry partners.
