Job summary

Ledwood Mechanical Engineering Ltd is recruiting an experienced Material Controller to join our Point of Ayr team in North Wales, supporting Eni's Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Transport & Storage Project, part of the HyNet North West programme.

You will be responsible for receipt, storage, control and distribution of materials, working closely with site teams, engineers, procurement, suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring stock accuracy and safety standards on a PAYE basis for

Qualifications

• Experience in materials control on-site in oil & gas or nuclear construction.
• Skills in goods receiving, inventory management and material tracking.
• Strong organisational, communication and IT skills; Excel proficiency.
• Eligible to work in the UK and possess CCNSG Safety Passport.
• Safety Critical Medical required at site induction.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials against PO, delivery notes and specs.
• Maintain stock records, material registers and inventories.
• Coordinate storage, handling, preservation and distribution.
• Issue materials to site teams against authorised requisitions.
• Monitor stock levels and outstanding deliveries; carry out stock checks.
• Maintain material traceability and documentation; liaise with QA/QC on inspections.
• Prepare materials reports to support procurement and construction.
• Ensure compliance with site safety, project specs and quality standards.

Material Controller Point of Ayr, North Wales

Ledwood Mechanical Engineering Ltd is recruiting an experienced Material Controller to join our team at Point of Ayr, North Wales, supporting Eni's Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Transport & Storage Project, part of the HyNet North West programme.

The Role

You will be responsible for the receipt, storage, control, tracking and distribution of materials, working closely with site teams, engineers, procurement, suppliers and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery notes and specifications.
• Maintain accurate stock records, material registers and inventory systems.
• Coordinate material storage, handling, preservation and distribution.
• Issue materials to site teams against authorised requisitions.
• Monitor stock levels, critical materials and outstanding deliveries.
• Carry out stock checks, audits and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain material traceability and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with QA/QC teams regarding inspections and non-conformances.
• Prepare materials reports and support procurement and construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, project specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous materials control experience within an on-site Oil & Gas or Nuclear construction environment.
• Experience in goods receiving, inventory management, material tracking and stock control.
• Strong organisational, communication and IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to physically handle materials and goods as required.
• Valid CCNSG Safety Passport.
• Valid Safety Critical Medical (required at site induction).
• Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Project Details

• Location: Point of Ayr, Talacre, North Wales (site-based)
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Approximately 18–24 months
• Employment: PAYE only
• Basic rate: £25.87 per hour
• Bonus: £2.37 per hour
• Overtime: Rates available after 38 weekday hours

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 10.5 hours per day
• Friday: 9.5 hours
• Saturday: 6 hours

Working hours may change to meet project requirements.

Allowances

Accommodation allowance of £53.39 per eligible night worked for candidates living more than 40 miles from site.

Travel time and rail fare allowances are payable once per month during the designated site long weekend, subject to eligibility.

Allowances are available on a PAYE basis only.
