Materials Controller

AA Euro are recruiting for a Materials Controller to join a specialist M&E Contractor fitting out a large data centre project in North London.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Materials Controller will be responsible for monitoring plant and material levels on site, including pre-inspection of all materials prior to offloading. The Materials Controller will be responsible for the safe storage of materials and to adhere to quality management and effective document control.
The Materials Controller will be an exemplar ambassador for the company and its values: integrity, dependability, safety, pride, and quality.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Receive materials, plant hire, and ensure their secure storage
2. Reconcile quantities with supervisors and vendors
3. Adhere to Quality management systems and ensure appropriate document control
4. Assist in arrangement for provision of transport, and to ensure prompt action requests
5. Physical Inventory Control and verification on the usage of the material
6. Propose and dispose surplus/ scrap material at facility location as per Company procedures
7. Prepare, monitor and update Material Tracking Schedule
8. Closely work with Planning Engineer to ensure materials are available as per the plan
9. Coordinate with Material Engineer and Procurement Department for providing details for Material Submittal to obtain Client approval
10. Planning with Procurement Department to minimise the inventory as agreed with Project Manager and prepare Monthly Materials Reports
11. Expedite with Supplier for prompt delivery
12. Monitor the Stores function and Storekeepers
13. Regularly update the Quantity Surveyor on the materials required to complete the Project
14. To ensure correct quantity and cost are debited to the items in CCS/SAP system
15. To accurately back charge subcontractors and suppliers
16. To ensure correct data is provided to Commercial Dept. for calculation of quantity and cost to complete budget items
17. All other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your manager
