Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a stock control operative to undertake works related to issuing store items and maintaining stock levels across main stores and engineers' vans.

You will manage goods inwards/outwards, deliveries (occasional forklift), and ensure accurate, timely stocking, with FIFO practices and regular stock checks.

Responsibilities

• Control and maintenance of stock levels in the main stores.
• Control and maintenance of stock levels in the engineers' vans.
• Managing and recording goods inwards / outwards.
• Taking delivery of goods with occasional use of a forklift.
• Ensuring that goods are checked in and accurate in a timely manner.
• Checking for damages and correct quantities.
• Putting items away in storeroom after delivery on a first in, first out basis.
• Putting together service kits and dispatch to SHL engineers.
• Managing quarantined items and returns.
• Creation of stock purchase orders.
• Updating GRN's on stock control / purchasing system.
• Verifying stock levels and re-ordering levels.
• Recording stock movements / transfers on stock control system.
• Carrying out regular stores stock checks.
• Assisting with engineer van stock checks
• Ensuring stores and workshop are kept clean and tidy.
• Maintaining asset registers for tools and PPE.
• Ensure Workplace H&S compliance at all times.
• Other such duties as may be required from time to time.

Job description
