Job Description

This role is one of two identical positions being created for a new site which will be the logistics hub for the UK & Ireland Field Service Operation and Spare Parts Sales of a global driveline provider in the commercial vehicle sector, specifically city buses. Located in the Midlands, the positions will be based on site and offer an opportunity for full ownership of the supply chain function.

Description

• Responsible for managing the flow of product, components, and supplies into the local business and onward to end users.
• Monitor inventory levels and demand on the ERP system; place appropriate purchase orders with the parent company.
• Expedite and prioritize orders with the parent company using available tools; coordinate with freight companies on shipment progress.
• For non-product related procurement, ensure the business has suitable suppliers for goods and services such as office supplies, consumables, PPE, tooling, etc.; raise purchase orders and liaise with the Finance Manager on budget control.
• Manage service exchange units during return trips to the parent company for remanufacturing.
• Ensure all customs and freight documentation are prepared to optimize goods importation.

Profile

A successful Materials Controller should have:

• Previous experience in purchasing goods and/or services.
• Experience operating fork trucks; training available if license is expired.
• Flexibility and team working skills, with opportunities for further development.
• Experience with an ERP system; training will be provided for Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong customer service orientation and a sense of urgency.
• Good analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• High PC literacy, especially in Excel.
