Job summary

Woodlands Hospital in Darlington, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Materials Assistant to join the Materials department. This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern.

You will support day-to-day stock control, process orders, maintain paperwork, and ensure stock availability for hospital departments. The role requires basic maths and English, computer skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

• GCSE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with PC software including Word and Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Experience in healthcare supplies is desirable.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Active member of the Materials Department, contributing to day-to-day operations.

Overview

Woodlands Hospital in Darlington is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Materials Assistant to join their team of staff in the Materials department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

• You are an active member of the Materials Department, involved in the day to day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to all internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through the correct order processing and replenishing of pre-approved stock and products for central stores or on behalf of hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files in good order with reference to accuracy, appropriateness and availability.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• A minimum of GSCE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Experience within a healthcare supplies setting desirable.
• Customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
